As a result of what is believed to be a substance misuse incident during lunch-break at the Charleston Shops area on Thursday 5th September important safety messages have been given to pupils.
We are reviewing our signing out procedures for pupils. Pupils are allowed to go to Charleston Shops at lunchtime only, but are advised not to loiter there. Parents can help us ensure the safety of all of our pupils by using the council’s cashless catering system meaning pupils don’t need to leave the premises at lunchtime.
Pupils attended assemblies or extended registration on Friday where safety messages were emphasised and this letter has been issued to all parents via pupils and email. Please contact the school should you have any further concerns.
Highland Council have issued a Press Release about this incident.

The local press were very supportive of our stance and the action we took and acknowledge the need for the entire school community to work together in order to prevent incidents such as these. Click on the article below to read the editorial.
