Congratulations to all the Summer challenge prize winners who completed a variety of at-home challenges set over the summer by the Home Economics Department.
Chloe Hardie ( 1st), Alastair DeVenny ( 2nd) and Laina MacAskill (3rd) won top prizes in the NPA Bakery Show Stopper Challenge. The class was asked to design a show stopper cake with a Scottish summer theme. The entries were all excellent and showed imagination and a good interpretation of the brief. Good technical knowledge regarding cake making, cake coverings and baking techniques won the day for the three winners. Move over Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood! Chloe, Alastair and Laina are on the way up!
Other events included a Summer Cookery challenge where students were asked to cook a variety of dishes at home over the holidays and send in photos and details to their teacher. Congratulations go to Innes Munro and Isla Woodford for some outstanding work!
