Parent letter

Dear Parent / Carer

Just a wee update letter about one or two things.

Communication:

The school is moving to Facebook to broadcast events / achievements.  We have just started this and we hope that in time it becomes a place to post things that up until now have not been going home.  The address for this is:

https://www.facebook.com/Charleston-Highland-100347911378671/

Bike shed:

We have had a number of thefts from the bike shed.   The janitors aim to always lock the shed during the school day.  However, there are times this becomes impossible as they can have other emergency duties.  I would encourage all pupils who use the bike shed to secure their bike with a chain.

Pupil Lockers:

Over the next few weeks we will be offering lockers to pupils.  The cost of the locker is £15 – £10 for the year with a £5 refundable deposit when the key is returned.  Any money raised will be used to repair broken lockers and thereafter go to the School Fund – this money can only be used to directly benefit Charleston pupils.

Anti-bullying events:

On Monday 11th November the school will be holding some Anti-bullying assemblies.  This will culminate on Friday 15th November in a “Wear Blue” dress down day against bullying.

INSET days:

Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd November the school will be closed for pupils.  These are INSET days.

I will be in touch later this term to update you on events in the school.  Please follow us on Facebook for more regular news.

Thank you for your continuing support of the school.

Yours faithfully,

Gordon Stewart
