A group of teenagers from Charleston Academy have painted a wall highlighting the issue of mental wellbeing as a result of their participation in the 18-week Growing2gether In the Community programme.
Lara MacGillivray, Jake Weston, Liam Leslie and Josh MacNeil decided to focus on mental health as their community topic as it was of concern to them. They surveyed S1 to S3 students at Charleston Academy to find out what makes them happy and what makes their sad. The results of that survey provided the inspiration for the mural on the wall within Charleston Academy school grounds.
Growing2gether In the Community is a 18-week youth-led project where teens create a community project of concern to them. The programme is currently open to graduates of the Growing2gether.
