Shiel Assembly

At our Shiel House Assembly this morning Achievement Merits were given to pupils for various successes across the school. Achievements by young people in our Climbing Club, the Inverness Music Festival, Cross Country, and Teens and Toddlers were all celebrated.

We also welcomed David Donaldson from the Salvation Army in Inverness once again talk about the meaning of Easter. David’s talk this morning linked well to our special feature too. We welcomed Adrienne Dempster from Blythswood Care in Inverness. Adrienne was here to receive a cheque from the school for £2,271.90. This is the final total of the fundraising initiatives undertaken by all S1 pupils during their Business Education Enterprise activity. The school received £150 from Blythswood to “invest and grow” through a variety of enterprise activities over the past few weeks. The amount raised was significant and an article will follow soon. Today Adrienne received the cheque and took part in interview with Mrs Heather Macrae in Business Education who coordinated all of the activities and some of the pupils who had been particularly successful. This will feature in the Inverness Courier later this week.

David, Adrienne and Rector Chris O’Neill also took the opportunity to thank Shiel House Captains Aidan Kent and Jenna Bisset for all their excellent work in leading assemblies over this term.

Well done everyone.
