On Tuesday 10th of November Charleston Academy held its annual S1 Art Exhibition evening in the school’s assembly hall. As well as giving the exhibited art work well-deserved recognition there was also a variety of stalls run by pupils and other members of our community: everything from books and clothes to homemade baked goods and more. Mr David Hay’s string group and Ross Fairfield’s piano pleasantly accompanied the evening with soft music played throughout.
As well as an overall winner, prizes were also given for most creative, best use of colour and best composition. The artwork was judged in the morning before the event by Rector Mr O’Neill, Art Portfolio Student Liam Black and Highland Hubs Art Manager, Stacey Toner. Lauren Cameron was awarded as the overall winner, Daria Kotas was presented best composition. Best use of colour was given to Tyler Brownsword and Chloe Ironside was awarded with the most creative.
Thank you to Kate Morris and other members of the Parent Council for supporting this event. Special thanks to all the local businesses for their generous donation of prizes.
