Charleston Academy hosted a fantastic opportunity for pupils on Friday. Skills Development Scotland took over our Hall for the day in order to provide a series of interactive workshops focussed on careers. Pupils were able to see themselves as avatars in certain careers, take online, interactive personality tests to see how suited they were to different careers and try out a range of other activities.
The event was a real motivator for many pupils to kick start their thinking about the World of Work (WOW) after school. Whether this involves apprenticeships, further education, or university pupils were able to begin to actively consider their options.
The day was organised by Depute Rector Miss Rona Macpherson, our Guidance Team. Their excellent collaboration with Gillian Clark and Yvonne Brown from SDS made the event extremely worthwhile for everyone involved.
