Charleston Academy marks Armistice Day

Charleston Academy went silent at 11am this morning as the whole school remembered those who had died in conflicts since the start of World War One. Assemblies last week were on the theme of Remembrance. Today three of our pipers performed a lament before 11am. Liam Eaton, Andrew MacLean and Euan Morrison piped outside the school where their lament was heard by everyone inside. They were honoured to be observed by many members of the public who were passing the school at the same time. The boys played a separate piece after the two minutes silence. Meanwhile, Head Boy James Hogan and Head Girl Freya Boa joined the Provost of Inverness and other Members at the Town House for a civic ceremony.
