Friday 24th January is Burns Day and several events are taking place at Charleston Academy.

  • Wear Tartan – whether a tie, scarf, shirt, skirt, trousers or kilt everyone is invited to wear at least one tartan item on Friday.
  • Burns Lunch – the canteen will be providing a traditional Burns’ “Supper” for lunch alongside our usual menu. Andrew Maclean will be piping in the Haggis at 12:45 with some of our Prefects reciting the Selkirk Grace and Address to the Haggis.
  • The music department and Right Enough Radio are coordinating a number of recitals and performances by pupils which will include Piping, Clarsach and Dancing with a definite Scottish theme.

All pupils and staff welcome to come along, wearing tartan, to support these events.
