Charleston Academy 5-3 Invergordon Academy

Charleston Academy picked up a well deserved, and long overdue first win of the season last week by overcoming Invergordon Academy 5-3. Charleston started the match very brightly and created several good opportunities in the opening fifteen minutes with Jack Hosie, Ronan Cousins and Colin Macdonald all going close. The break did come through a Jack Hosie goal midway through the first half. And although Invergordon replied, a Robbie MacLennan tap ensured Charleston retook the lead. However, another Invergordon goal against the run of play meant that the teams went in at half time tied at 2-2.

Charleston remained upbeat and went on to dominate the second half with Ronan Cousins and Jack Hosie causing havoc up front against the Invergordon defence. Jack went onto notch his second and third goal of the game to secure his hat-trick and although Invergordon scored a third to try and get back into the game, Ronan Cousins put the game beyond doubt by adding a fifth goal late on.
