Shinty News

Picture6Inverness is hosting a number of International fixtures on Saturday 2 November at the Bught Park.

Charleston have a number of former pupils who have played shinty for the school and it is very encouraging to see so many playing in the shinty/hurley matches with Ireland. In the Senior team Stuart MacDonald (Lovat), John Barr (Glenurquhart), Calum Cruden (Lovat) and Connor Cormack (Beauly) will take the field.

In the under 21 match Greig Matheson (Lovat) Captains the team and is supported by Lewis Tawse (Lovat), Graham MacMillan (Lovat), Michael MacKenzie (Lovat) and Jack MacDonald (Beauly). In the ladies fixture Laura Gallacher (Glengarry/Lovat) will be looking to score goals as always.

Congratulations to all concerned for reaching such a high standard of skill, fitness and commitment and best of luck for Saturday.

Training for the school team continues on Thursday at lunchtime and the Wade Cup (under 16) is due to be played this month. Miss Crawford (History) is working hard behind the scenes to get a girls team up and running and interested pupils should keep in contact with her.

There is training for interested under 14 players in the Charleston Games Hall on a Friday between 6 – 7pm. Run by Inverness Shinty Club all are welcome especially beginners/less experienced players.
