On Wednesday 13th March all S6 and some S5 pupils attended a series of workshops aimed at raising awareness of road safety. The workshops included input from Advanced Driving Instructors, Red Cross, Fire Service, Northern Constabulary, Highland Council Road Safety team as well as a mechanic. The pupils were given information about causes and outcomes of accidents, what to do if they come across an accident and what types of injury can occur in an accident. As well as this there was also information about how to improve their driving skills through the Pass plus Scheme, legal issues and how to maintain their vehicle.
Pupils found the sessions very interesting and several have said they will be more aware and cautious as a driver. The feedback from those running the workshops was very positive and they praised the pupils for their behaviour and interactions during the sessions.
