A fantastic effort from everyone in the Charleston Academy Team: Samantha Cochrane (5T), Eilidh MacKay (2T1), Caitlin Graham (3T1), Struan Hay (5K1) and Angus Franklin (1S2). Congratulations to them all.

Swimming Success

robbieCongratulations to Robbie More, 6K. Robbie competed in the Scottish Schools Swimming Championships recently and achieved 4th place in both the 200m and 400m freestyle.

It takes a fantastic level of training and commitment to get to this level and Robbie has worked hard up to 6 days a week including early morning sessions to get to this level.

Robbie took some time out from last year when he was studying for his five Highers and he has been rewarded with an unconditional offer from Glasgow University to do Product Design.

Robbie is now working towards the Commonwealth Games trials. The best wishes of everyone at Charleston go with him.

Four Charleston Academy pupils attended the annual Highland Schools Swimming Gala at Inverness Leisure on Wednesday. The event acts as a qualifying round for the Scottish Schools Finals which will be held in January at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow. Later in the year it will also host the swimming action of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Every year Charleston Academy is represented by a small but successful team. This year was no exception and all pupils achieved podium finishes or personal bests. Erica Fowler and I will now go on to represent Charleston Academy at the Scottish Schools Finals next year.
