British Heart Foundation

The British Heart Foundation is one of our Partner Charities. As a charity, the British Heart Foundation has donated Call Push Rescue (CPR) Training Kits to Charleston Academy. These kits are used in our Personal and Social Education programme. Using the kits, pupils will complete the Heartstart Course. This course covers aspects of first aid, including:

  • dealing with an unconscious person
  • the signs and symptoms of a heart attack
  • recognising a cardiac arrest and performing CPR
  • dealing with choking
  • dealing with serious bleeding
  • Child CPR
  • recovery position
  • defibrillator awareness

Each year we will hold a WEAR RED DAY in support of the British Heart Foundation. The money we raise will help off-set the costs to the British Heart Foundation for donating CPR Kits to Charleston Academy.
