S1 v Dingwall Academy

Dingwall Academy – 4

Charleston Academy – 1 (Jack McCormick)

MOM – Daniel McDougall

Charleston went down 4-1 to Dingwall Academy on Friday. Charleston played some fantastic football and were incredibly unfortunate to be on the wrong end of the result. Despite going 1-0 down in the first half, Charleston battled back strongly and hit the bar with a great free kick from Daniel MacDougall. Ross Munro then delivered a corner which very nearly went straight in. The same man again then jinked his way to the by line and rolled a ball along the 6 yard line which led to a goal mouth scramble, Charleston just unable to force the ball home. Early in the second half, Charleston deservedly got the goal they richly deserved. Jack MacCormick, who had a fantastic game, lashed the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Another fantastic curling effort from Daniel MacDougall was cleared of the line as Charleston pressed and pressed. However, 3 late goals from Dingwall as Charleston tired were enough for Dingwall to snatch the 3 points.

Another excellent display from the S1 boys who are showing excellent potential from the first few games.

S2/3 v Dingwall Academy

Dingwall Academy – 1

Charleston Academy – 2 (Adam Boa & Evan Hamilton)

On the astro pitch a mixed S2/S3 team manged to come out on top by the odd goal winning 2 – 1. In a closely fought game Charleston found themselves unlucky to be down at half time after unfortunately missing a penalty. A spirited second half performance saw goals from Evan Hamilton and Adam Boa give Charleston the victory. This was despite having to play the game without any substitutes and at the last minute drafting in Sergio Thomson, who did not look out of place, from the S1 squad to complete a starting eleven.

Charleston will be looking to arrange more games across all age groups over the coming weeks.
