Earlier this week Advanced Higher Art & Design students were treated to a visit by a former student of Charleston Academy, Robbie More. Robbie left Charleston last summer after successfully obtaining a place on the Product Design Undergraduate course at The Glasgow School of Art.
Today Robbie met with group of ten students, the majority of whom are hoping next year to apply to various Art Schools up and down the country. This was a great experience for our students, allowing them to see a successful art portfolio which was accepted into one of the country’s most sought after art schools.
Robbie explained to students the expectations and demands of art school life and demonstrated this when he showed case his work. Students were engaged and highly motivated during this informal Q & A session. The key message to students is work hard and creativity should be at the heart of everything you do and most importantly develop your own creative style.
We are really grateful to Robbie for taking the time to come back to Charleston Academy and speak to our students. Today was extremely beneficial for everyone.
