Charleston Academy 2 – 5 Lochaber High School
Goalscorers: Fergus MacDougall, 6S (1), Steven MacLeod – 6T (1)
Charleston unfortunately lost out to Lochaber High School in a seven goal thriller in a match that had everything! The first half was a bit of a non-affair with neither team able to register too many shots on the opposing goal. The match sprung to life in the second half however and Lochaber raced into a two goal lead with two very well taken goals. However a goalmouth scramble led to Steven MacLeod prodding the ball home to close the gap to 2-1. Lochaber then had a man sent off but Charleston were unable to capitalise and fell further behind with the score now at 3-1. A mistake in the Lochaber backline allowed Fergus MacDougall to race through on goal and slot calmly past the onrushing goalkeeper to bring Charleston back into the game at 3-2, and set up a grand stand finish with 10 minutes to go. However, with Charleston throwing caution to the wind and pouring men forward in desperate search of an equaliser, Lochaber broke quickly on numerous occasions and clinically put the game beyond any doubt adding a further two goals to come away with a 5-2 victory.
