Following on from our narrow victory in the Inverness round of the International Rotary Quiz, Amber Hinde, Calum Finlayson, Morvern Carmichael and I took part in the next part of the competition. This consisted of an 8 round international quiz through Skype. Our challengers were a school in Inverness’ twinned town La Baule in France.

Forty-Eight challenging questions and a lot of guessing later, we ran out 83 – 60 winners!

We were invited to a dinner at the Lochardil House Hotel courtesy of Culloden Rotary. After a brilliant dinner, we were presented with our trophy and I had to deliver a short impromptu speech. Many thanks to Culloden Rotary Club for organising two rounds of a very enjoyable quiz, Mrs Robinson and Mrs Gunn and Lycée Grand-Air in La Baule for making it a very pleasant afternoon.
